The purpose of our age-graded classes is to reach and teach children who God is and how to have a growing relationship with Him. We study God’s word together and use developmentally appropriate activities to help them to understand and apply his word to their own lives.
In the nursery class, room 202, infants through 2 year olds, are shown God's love by the teachers who work with them each week. The teachers share God's love through music, stories and play with the children who are in their care.
The preschool class, in room 205, is for children two and a half through Kindergarten. The classroom is set up in learning centers to encourage the children to learn in many different ways. We have a block center, home living center, book center, fine motor center and we rotate other centers in from time to time.
Each week we have a circle time with the kids and share a Bible story and singing or instruments with them. We also try to do a craft that is related to the Bible story to help them remember what they are learning. The children also enjoy acting out the Bible stories, this helps to reinforce the story.
In the 1st thru 3rd grade class, room 203, we do many different activities during their time together on Sunday mornings to teach God's word and to help the children learn how to apply it to their lives. They use a variety of methods, techniques and approaches to help children memorize Bible verses and learn the meaning of the verses as well.
In the 4th, 5th and 6th grade class, room 201, the teachers try to create a warm and friendly environment in which to share God's word. They also use a variety of learning styles so they every child has the opportunity to learn in the style that works for them. They help the children to understand how to apply God's word to their lives and use it on a daily basis.
